Cannabis Myths Debunked

Most of the myths surrounding marijuana are based on false evidence. But, people choose to believe. Therefore, to debunk a few of these myths, let’s look at some scientific evidence.

Myth #1

Using marijuana at a young age can adversely affect the rest of your life.

Fact: Cannabis Reduces Maladjustment

A study done by the Pittsburgh School of Medicine and Rutgers University found that “male subjects who consumed cannabis between the ages of 15 and 26 differed in terms of socioeconomic, social and life satisfaction outcomes by their mid-30’s” as compared to those who never used pot. The study also found that individuals who used marijuana in their lifetime were able to more readily adjust to adulthood, generally averting the risk of maladjustment.

Myth #2

Marijuana is a gateway drug leading users to try more dangerous illegal drugs.

Fact: Cannabis Decreases Addictions to Opioids

The truth is that the availability of medical marijuana reduces opioid abuse. In effect, cannabis decreases the number of people who would otherwise end up addicted to opioids and decreases the number of “opioid overdose deaths compared to states that do not have a legal medical marijuana law”.

Myth #3

Pot is a substitute for alcohol and other drugs.

Fact: Substituting Marijuana for Other Drugs is a Good Thing

It’s true that many prefer to avoid the side effects of alcohol by choosing to smoke marijuana instead. Yet, many drinkers continue to drink and many who partake of other illicit drugs, continue to do so.

One Canadian study found that 80.3% of subjects began to substitute marijuana for prescription drugs and 32.6% substituted marijuana for illicit drugs. That’s great news, considering that weed is the healthier option.

Myth #4

More young people will use marijuana, if it is legalized.

Fact: Use Remains Steady after Legalization

It’s not true that more people will use marijuana if it is legal. More and more states are legalizing medical and recreational weed.  The 2014 National Survey on Drug Use and Health said that “current use of marijuana by those between the ages of 12 to 17 has remained largely unchanged over the past decade”.

Cannabidiol (CBD) Oil is one of 123 phytocannabinoid compounds in the hemp cannabis plant. However, the THC Content is less than 0.3%. This CBD Oil is made by “AAC CBD”. The FDA considers hemp oil (and it’s derivative CBD) to be a dietary supplement (not a medication). The reason for this is that we make AAC CBD from industrial hemp plants. If you live in the US, this means you don’t need a prescription and can legally purchase and consume hemp-based cannabidiol in any state.

According to a 2013 review published in the British Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, CBD OIL may treat the following conditions:

√ Reduces Nausea and Vomiting

√ Combats Inflammatory and Pain Disorders

√ Combats Anxiety and Depression Disorders

Independent laboratories test AAC CBD to assure a consistent, dependable level of potency and quality. It’s tested to make sure it is 100% USA grown and extracted. It is produced without organic solvents and NO pesticides or sprays are used on the hemp plants.
