This Autumn Take Control of Your Eye Health

Autumn is a great time to take control of your eye health.  Winter is around the corner and for many of us that means less humidity in the air and increased problems with dry eyes – a chronic condition where our tear ducts don’t produce enough tears to keep our eyes moist.  Sit far away from the heater or fire so as to avoid the radiating heat often causing irritation and increased dryness.

Fall is also the time of Thanksgiving and a change in our eating habits.  Make this the season where you increase the greens in your diet.  Spinach, kale and collard greens, to name just a few, are packed full of lutein and zeaxanthin, important plant pigments that can help stem the development of macular degeneration and cataracts.
